Enterprise Privacy Protection policy

Broker JLT Risk Solutions has designed a policy for companies in the US financial and healthcare industries which protect them against the consequences or costs involved if personal data kept on their computer systems is stolen. The Enterprise Privacy Protection policy has been enhanced to cover emerging technology risks such as stolen computer hardware filled with personal data, and hackers using false communications to trick people into surrendering personal information. US regulations demand protection for clients’ personal data stored by financial and healthcare companies and companies are liable for the consequences if data is illegally accessed, and management can suffer hefty fines.

Emily Freeman, partner at JLT Risks Solutions, said: "This policy is still quite unique in the insurance industry. In 2005, more than 53 million individuals in the US had their personal, medical or financial information exposed or threatened.”
