A federal district court has dismissed a suit brought by the New Hampshire Insurance Department to recover attorneys’ fees that Home had incurred in defending reimbursement claims against certain insures of the now insolvent Home Insurance Company. In Sevigny –v– OM Group Judge Barbadoro held that these insureds lacked sufficient contacts with New Hampshire to warrant jurisdiction and therefore dismissed the liquidator’s efforts to recover $1.5 million that Home had paid to defend matters than an Ohio court had recently ruled fell outside the scope of Home’s coverage.
