Following a comprehensive review of negligence claims histories over a four year period, Aon has discovered that residential conveyancing continues to give rise to the highest number of claims among small to medium sized law firms.

From 2000 to 2004, Aon found that 35% of claims related to conveyancing, while 20% of claims centered around lines of personal injury. Aon’s research also looked at the claims in terms of average value, and found that the commercial sector had average values nearly five times those of residential conveyancing.
