Boy sues parents over crash |
|
An eight year old boy is to sue his own parents for a car crash which left him disabled at the age of three.
Teddy Harrison's lawyers have gone to the Minnesota Supreme Court to sue Amy and Ted Harrison Sr. The suit has been filed on Teddy's behalf by his grandmother.
In a bizarre twist the parent are hoping they will lose the case and it will force the Harrison's car insurer to pay $100,000 in damages.
The claim is that the car seat in his mother's car was not buckled properly causing the seat to dislodge in the accident and leave Teddy with brain damage and confined to a wheel chair.
Robert Kind Teddy's lawyer was quoted in the US media as saying: "This suit is about forcing the parents' insurance company to live up to its responsibility. "You hate to think you are promoting lawsuits, but this is an unusual case.''
