Aon has employed a reinsurance manager in its Moscow Office to help serve the local Russian market. The move is part of a continued strong expansion drive by Aon to develop and grow its business in the Central and Eastern European region.

Alexey Polyakov, experienced in the Russian reinsurance market and previously employed at Transsiberian Re, has been appointed in this role with effect from November 1st 2006. Aon has a long established presence in the Russian reinsurance market operating through its London and Hamburg offices.

“The appointment of Alexey Polyakov in the Moscow Office will bring us closer to the local market, allowing us to better service the needs of our clients in Russia and to grow our existing portfolio of business in the Russian market,” said Richard Drummond Murray, chairman, Aon Re CEE. “It also marks the next phase of our drive to expand our business in the increasingly important Central and Eastern European region. This expansion will involve the establishment of further regional offices during the course of this year and next.”
